A Little About Tyler

Tyler is a therapist, faerie, and musician drawn to therapeutic work by a love of people (especially the lives and history of queer individuals) and our collective journey through life. He identifies as a cis, gay man, though he finds “queer” fits his gender and sexual identity better. As a more feminine man, he uses his lived experience to create a space where we can be queer as a $3 bill while being taken seriously and acknowledged for the full people we are. In particular, he intends for the space you create together to be a time without judgements and expectations of the “outside world”, regardless of where they come from. As queer people, we often navigate the world without much guidance on how to be and need to “create” ourselves. The therapeutic space we create together is a place where you can show off that creation, and together we can explore the challenges and hopes you face in life.

He is passionate about empowering folks with tools they can take with them to better navigate the challenges that they encounter through daily life. As a holistically trained therapist, he believes that feeling secure and safe in our own bodies can be a powerful healing tool. At the same time, he knows that for queer folks there are a myriad of societal and interpersonal factors that can be obstacles to safe self expression and being present in our bodies, and as such he prides himself in working with folks as we explore what modalities work for you and your unique self.

In particular, he is adept at holding space for folks as they navigate difficult family and cultural situations, as well as working with men of all kinds as they explore male identity, masculinity, and what that means to them.
