A Little About Al
Al (they/them) is a non-binary, Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a passion for serving their community. Through both personal and professional experiences, they have a particular love for helping folx experiment with exploring gender identity and various forms of gender expression. They also enjoy working with neurodivergent folx, especially those on the spectrum. Al has ten years of experience working with Veterans, whom they also have an affinity for.
Al has a gentle, easy-going approach to their work. Forming relationships that are healing and reparative is one of Al's favorite parts of providing therapy. They understand that building a therapeutic relationship can take time and care, and they work collaboratively with clients to create one that feels safe and aligned with each person’s needs. Al provides a non-judgmental space for you to express yourself authentically, as they bring their whole self to this work and place a lot of importance on presenting genuinely in every session. They are body-positive and believe in a Health at Every Size approach. Sessions with them are very conversational, using a number of different modalities to help you work together to find creative solutions. Al will continuously check in with you about how you’re feeling about the work you’re doing together to ensure that they are providing the best quality care possible. They look forward to meeting you!
