A Little About John

John (he/him) is a pre-licensed mental health counselor who wholeheartedly believes therapy should feel welcoming, supportive, and genuinely accepting. He works from a humanistic, person-centered perspective, weaving in CBT, ACT, narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques to create a space where you can explore life’s challenges without judgment. In simpler terms, John meets you where you are, respects your pace, and offers the kind of affirming care he feels everyone deserves.

Before earning his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State University, John spent more than 15 years working in college student affairs, supporting students through personal, social, and academic concerns. During that time, he discovered he truly loved supporting others—especially those exploring big questions around sexuality, faith, and living an authentic life.

As a member of the Queer community himself, John understands the importance of working with a therapist who doesn’t ask you to teach them about your lived experience. While he enjoys working with teens and college-age clients, he welcomes clients of all ages.

Passionate about providing queer, polyamorous, and kink-affirming therapy, John is also training to be a Therapeutic Game Master—which uses tabletop role-playing games to help you explore your thoughts and feelings. He stays current on best practices through memberships in WPATH, AASECT, ACA, AMHCA, and MaMHCA, but his ultimate priority is making sure you have a space where you feel seen and heard.

Whether you’re facing stress, anxiety, identity exploration, or deeper personal concerns, John tries to create an environment where you can bring your whole self. If you’re looking for a space to be authentic and work through life’s challenges, he’d be honored to walk alongside you on your path.
